Lulworth Cove

The Jurassic Dorset Heritage Coastline

Situated on the south coast of Dorset, between Swanage and Weymouth and part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, Lulworth is a beautiful horseshoe shaped cove where you can relax on the beach, swim in the water or take a guided boat trip to further explore the coastline.

Lulworth is also home to the famous Fossil Forest where you can see the remains of growths that formed around tree stumps from about 135 million years ago.

There is a Heritage Centre which reveals the history of Lulworth and several places to eat.

The Dorset Heritage CoastLulworth Cove also makes a great starting point for a walk along the historic coastline. Negotiating the steep climb up the hill to the west of the car park you are soon on the cliff path which affords stunning coastal views and permits access to several concealed beaches.

This walk will eventually lead you to Durdle Door, a rock arch in the sea and one of the most photographed landmarks along the Jurassic Coast.

There are also 2 shingle beaches here, one at Durdle Door and one at adjacent Man Of War Bay.
