Compton Acres

Compton Acres is one of the finest privately owned gardens in the South which, due to its location, also provides spectacular views of Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island and the Purbeck Hills.

Set within 10 acres, each of the 12 individual gardens is created on a different theme, from the magnificent Japanese garden to the grandeur and formality of the Italian garden and from the winding walkways of the wooded valley to the "Amateur Gardening" garden created in conjunction with the gardening magazine.

There is also the opportunity to buy gifts, garden ware and a variety of plants in "The Ark" and the "Something Different" craft shop and a variety of food and drink is available from 2 restaurants, a cafe and Ice Cream Parlour.

For an additional fee, visitors can also see the large model railway housed at Compton Acres, containing many tiny handcrafted scenes.
