Brewers Quay

Brewers Quay in the Old Harbour area of Weymouth is a unique experience combining many specialist shops with interactive attractions and a museum.

The award-winning Timewalk takes visitors on a fascinating journey through Weymouth's turbulent past and strong maritime connections with Miss Paws, the brewery cat, and her ancestors as guides.Starting in the 14th century, visitors learn about the "Black Death", the looting of a Spanish Galleon, the Civil War, Weymouth as a Royal Spa and more, finishing with the history of brewing in Hope Square (the site now occupied by Brewers Quay).

Weymouth Museum was part of the Timewalk attraction until 1999 but then became a separate museum. Admission is free although donations are encouraged. It is full of artefacts reflecting the social history of the area and its strong maritime links.

The final attraction at Brewers Quay is Discovery, an interactive Science Centre for all the family with over 60 different hands-on exhibits enabling visitors to discover all about the world around them.

Completing a visit to Brewers Quay are the many different specialist shops, from toy and gift shops to craft outlets and collectables to sweets. With a restaurant and pub on site you could spend the whole day there if you wished.
