Thunder Tour is set to make a big splash in Bournemouth ….

Racers from all over the UK will be battling it out on Bournemouth’s seafront for Rounds 3 & 4 of the RYA ThunderCat Racing National Championship on 25th-26th June….

This is the start of ThunderCat Racing's 7th season and is set to be an exciting and special year. With a mix of enthusiastic new teams, a host of top venues and a world championship hosted by the UK closing in, a real buzz is being created amongst ThunderCat’s unique community.

ThunderCat Racing is certainly not a new concept, nor constrained to the UK. Born out of South Africa over 20 years ago, the sport has now spanned to more than 12 countries all adopting the same rules and classifications. ThunderCat Racing is the ultimate spectators sport, it's close to shore circuits ensures all the action can be seen from the comfort of your deck chair!

The series is made up of two classes, with new comers encouraged to join the ‘standard’ out of the box class where zero modifications are permitted. Equally competitive is the ‘Blueprint’ class where competitors can increase engine capacity to push speeds in excess of 60mph!

The 2011 season has now started and with the second RYA national event kicking off in the tourist hotspot of Bournemouth on 25th - 26th June. Don't hesitate, come and join the thrills and spills of ThunderCat Racing whether you want to be a spectator, racer or official you are always welcomed with open arms – join us by Bournemouth Pier, racing to take place between 11am to 3pm on both days!

Event organiser, James Tapp says; “The ThunderCat Event is set to be one of the most extreme waterborne events to hit Bournemouth. Don’t miss out it will be free to attend and an excellent family atmosphere!”

The venues set for the 2011 season will also provide fantastic commercial opportunities for local and national businesses to become involved taking advantage of high visitor numbers at excellent venues across the UK.
